This week I talk about fighting in the streets, crisises with bubblegum, and zombies.  I also review Gungrave.  SPOILERS in the review, so caveat emptor.

NEWS
Crayon Shin-chan creator found dead. RIP.  The show must go on, though.  There are ass dances to be danced.

Super Street Fighter IV Announced.   You'll probably be better off waiting for Super Street Fighter IV: Hyper Championship Fighting Turbo Zero vs SNK.

Bubblegum Crisis Live Action movie to hire via reality tv show.
Just like they did in the original show.  How else would a punk rock singer, aerobics instructor, policewoman/pipe-faller-inner, and a lingerie salesperson get together?

Review

Gungrave

There will be no episode of UAP this week as I've been sick with a cold.  It's been a struggle to stay awake, let alone record anything.  Here's a dramatic re-enactment:

Anyway, I feel bad for breaking up my streak of 11 weeks in a row but I haven't given up on the whole weekly release schedule yet.  I'll be back next week at the same Bat time, same Bat channel.

Pugs are awesome, and the best thing about Pugs is that you can enjoy their crazy antics and shenanigans on any day of the week.

Westies can only wish that they were Pugs

This week I talk about hobbits, power rangers, the general geography of Florida and I review Miami Guns.  Full show notes can be found at http://upapaddle.com

News
New Line settles with Tolkien Estate, Hobbit movies to move forward.
That's some serious bling bling that they can take all the way to Mordor ... and then drop in into a volcano.  I'm not sure where I was going with that.

Tommy the Green Ranger to fight in MMA.  SPOILER ALERT: It is with great sorrow that I report that, from what I learned from AWO's latest promo, the Green Ranger died.  Jason Frank, we hardly knew you.

Star Ocean: Last Hope International announced for PS3.  That's right, come to UAP for all the latest RPG news.  You definitely didn't hear this from the other RPG podcasts yet.  Also another thing they forgot to mention, Valkyria Chronicles is awesome.

PS3 RPG Developers screwing Microsoft over.  Come on Namco Bandai, I want Tales of Vesperia for PS3 now.  Could you try screwing Microsoft a little faster?

Review

Miami Guns

Visit scenic Florida, land of the podcasters!  Visit the majestic mountains, the serene deserts, and prodigious jungles brimming with wildlife!  Just be sure to bring your gun.  There are Americans in those jungles!  To be fair, though, some of them are only there on a cruise.

Also, beware of exploding fruit.

Spiraken Manga Review - I don't know why, but for some reason I really like that promo.

Fightbait Anime/Video/Westie Podcast - I'm not a big fan of Fightbait's new Westie Wednesday segment as pugs are clearly the superior breed of dog.  Yes, every day is Pugsday here at upapaddle.com

Look at this little guy, he's dog tired:

This week I talk about germs, copying floppies, and I review Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture.

News
New Sonic game announced.  It will reach 0 to suck in less time than it took you to read this.

New iPods.  I think I'll hold out for the iPhone 3GST.

Swine Flu infects PAX.  At least the H1N1 stricken people will have plenty of toys to play with at the hospital, provided they are minors of course.

Don't Copy that Floppy - The Sequel.  Because no one demanded it.
Perhaps the RIAA.  Anyway, if you listen to a copy of this podcast, your ass will end up in JAIL. Just so you know.

Here's the original:

Review

Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture.  This series was made by Studio Shirogumi and Telecom Animation Film.  It was directed by YÅichirÅ Yano, who also did some work on Batman: The Animated Series and Tiny Toon Adventures.  Awesome sauce.

Look at those little guys!  Who wouldn't want to be infected by them?

On the other hand, watch out for these ne'er-do-wells:

Also, don't crap in your fields

Finally, don't put it in your mouth!

This week I talk about Black Jack.  The doctor, not the game.  Specifically, I talked about "The Four Miracles of Life" specials, which can be streamed legally at Crunchyroll.com.  Check them out!

News

Disney buys Marvel.  I think the following picture sums the deal up nicely:

From Comicmix.com

Please, oh please, won't someone think of the rollercoasters?

Fantastic Four to get reboot.  Whoever green lit this picture should get a good booting.  To the head.  I guess at least we'll get to see new suits for the FF family, complete with molded nipples.  Yes, Thing nipples.

Okamiden for the DS - Look at him, he's just a little puppy! Who's a good boy?  Who's a good boy?  Fetch!

Also, he's seemed to attracted a Midna type character.  Interesting.  Much more interesting than the mention I gave it in the episode, but to be fair, I hadn't seen the trailer when I did my recording.

Science news: Saturn's rings will disappear on September 4th, 2009.  I blame swing dancing, and the Internet.

More Fightsticks on the way.  And more after thatAnd one more for good measure.

Review
Black Jack: The Four Miracles of Life *

Yes, there are only four miracles in life and one of them involves a supercomputer.  You can find them at Crunchyroll.com

* The specials didn't have this opening sequence but I put it here to give you an idea of what the character designs and animation looked like.

Promotional consideration given to:
RPGLamer.com - Jake and I are planning on recording another episode together soon, that is if I can be dragged away from Valkyria Chronicles long enough.  You brought this on yourself, Jake.

Anime World Order - for an indepth, informed review of Black Jack, check out this episode.  For more information on the God of Manga himself, Osamu Tezuka, check out this AWO episode.  Also, check out the Astro Boy Essays, by Fred Schodt.  Good stuff.

Also, I feel kinda bad for using "What's up, Doc?" without referencing Looney Tunes once, so here's a cartoon.

Falling Hare

Fans of the old kentcer.com site probably recognize this one as I've posted it on at least one other occasion.

I have a particular fondness for this particular Bugs Bunny cartoon as I used to have it on an old vhs tape when I was younger and I used to watch it over and over again.   As Bob of WQOQ.com would say, I would have still been in diapers then.  The repeat viewings may have been due to the lack of age appropriate vhs tapes in our household.  I sure saw Coming to America and Rhustler's Rhapsody a lot, though.   Ah, memories.

Thanks for listening!
