This week's episode is all about treasure, and the finding of said treasure.  I talk about Cat's Eye, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune, and Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure.

News

Trailer for Dragon Ball MMORPG released.  I forgot to mention that it's being released in Korea, but I can see this one making it's way over to North America in the near future.

Here's the trailer:

Professor Layton 4 to have unlockable RPG.  100 hours.  That's a lot of math homework for Layton to be doing.

More Mahoromatic on the way ... for some reason.

Cat's Eye
-
Unfortunately I can't find a trailer for this on Youtube.   I was really hoping to find the ending song too so you could see the aerobics.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune

For once, I'd like to see a real archaelogist game, with hours upon hours of tedious research and no exciting escapades to speak of.

Zack and Wiki: Quest for Barbaros Treasure

Yes, that's a golden flying talking monkey.  You'd think that would be worth far more money than any other treasure in the game.

Promotional consideration given to:

Luke and Elliot's Bearfighting Extravaganza - These guys are valiantly protecting us from our ursine enemies.  The ones you really need to watch out for are the pandas.

Lather's Blather - He'll be getting a reprieve from my wraith as my true archenemies have dared to show themselves once more.

Musical interlude:
The song played was The Last Saskatchewan Pirate by the Pubcrawlers

Here's a video of them performing it:

To compare and contrast, here's Captain Tractor's version
I believe this is the version that gets the most radio play

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the Arrogant Worms, who wrote the song in the first place:

Thanks for listening!

This week I talk about a big moose.  I also review Fat Princess, Big Man Japan, and Shadow of the Colossus

News
Sony PS3 Slim Announced - What they don't tell you is that it they performed liposuction on the features in order to slim it down.  Namely, no more Linux.

PSP miniS - I may have been mistaken about the capitalization on this one.  My bad

Funimation to begin re-streaming One Piece.  I haven't watched the show for a while but it looks like it is catching up with the manga.  So they are just in time to start airing the filler!  Hopefully it's just as good as the Naruto filler was.  Mmmm, curry of life!

Speaking of large things, Here's Mac the Moose.  He's glorious

Mac the Moose (Moose Jaw)

And here's a song about Moose Jaw, I've been to Moose Jaw by John Wing

Fat Princesses
I wonder if there would have been an uproar if it had been Disney Princesses.  Now that's a game I'd like to see.

Big Man Japan

BABY JUSTICE!

Shadow of the Colossus

Full disclosure:  for the longest time, I thought the horse's name was Arrow.  Boy was that an awkward imaginary conversation between Argo and Wander.  Yes, even in video games, I'm awkward.

Promotional Consideration given to:
Anime82 - Speaking of big things, what happened to Kaiju82?

Anime Pacific - They recently updated their site layout.  Mark my words, they're up to no good.
EDIT:  I WAS RIGHT!!!1!  Just when I caught up to them in episode count, they release a new episode (with the promise of more to follow).  I'm going to have to step up my A game now, and by A I mean Arch Nemesis-ing.

Anime World Order - I'm a little surprised the AWO gang aren't doing as well as I would have thought on the Anime on Twitter competition.  They're still doing much better than I am, though, since I refuse to submit my own twitter id (http://twitter.com/upapaddle) for consideration.  I suppose I should actually start tweeting again, but screw it.

Musical Accompaniment:
Big in Japan by Supergene

And since you demanded it, here's a video of the world's largest pie, circa the 1920's

Thanks for Listening

News

Yu Yu Hakusho Cast Reunites for New Picture Drama.
Now if only they could have gotten the animators to re-unite as well, then we could have had a new anime.

Steven Spielberg to Produce Halo Movie
This sounds like it could be good, but it would be great if it was Halo: Jurrasic Park IV - Dinos in Space. With Jaws.  Just think about the toy possibilities.  This is only slightly more ridiculous than the proposed proposed Jurassic Park IV (which must be made)

Fun things of the Episode
Ok, they technically aren't mentioned in the episode but they are worth watching just the same.

Monster opening in Lego

Is there anything that Lego can't do?

Kid solves two Rubik's Cubes while playing Guitar Hero on Expert

I'd be happy to be able to do one or the other.

Review
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

If I learned anything from this movie, and I haven't, it's that if you get drafted into a super secret military organization, get a codename as soon as possible.  It doesn't matter if your name is Flamer or Seabed Wetter, at least you'll live.

Also, here's the Looney Tunes cartoon I mentioned:

Yeah, this is probably better than the movie, but what can you do.  You can make some porkchop sandwiches, that's what.

This week I rant about Haruhi, gush about Horace, leap through "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", and give you a primer on "Primer".  The reviews are a little spoilerific, so caveat emptor.

News

Futurama original voice cast coming back, for sure this time.

RUMOR: 4Kids for Sale.  Whenever I think of 4Kids, I think of this flash.  The nifty thing is that this was done by TVs Kyle, a frequent contributor to Otaku Generation.  I've played a few of his songs on this podcast too.  Good stuff.

Epic Mickey - It looks epic, to say the least.  I just hope that a lot of the concept art makes it into the actual game.

IT'S HORACE!!!

Commenting on Controversy
I talk about the much maligned Endless Eight saga from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.  I'm not a fan of it myself, but I don't think I'm taking it as hard as Hitler is:

EDIT: Apparently the Endless Eight Saga is coming to an end, after eight episodes.  Who'd have thunk it?  Anyway, it still sucked.

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

I haven't been able to time leap myself yet.  I think I need to get some more height when I jump before it will work.  If I leap from my apartment balcony, that should do it.  I'll be back (in time) in a minute ...

Ow.

Primer

I promise if I ever get a time machine, I'll only use it for good.  Specifically, I'll beat the makers of Endless Eight with the Smart Stickâ
so they'd have had the good sense to not make Endless Eight in the first place.

Also, after relistening to this episode, I realized that I went into way more detail in my reviews of these movies than I should have.  I guess I need to go back and beat myself with the Smart Stickâ

EDIT: I'd also go back and remind myself to include all the videos in the shownotes that I promised in the show.  Here's the Back to the Future comparison:
