This week, in honor of reaching a relatively minor and somewhat disturbing podcasting milestone, I review Blue Seed and talk at length about cephalopod anatomy.

News

Futurama - original cast MAY be back, according to John Dimaggio.  Well, he hinted at it anyway. It seems like every time I report a Futurama story, it's retracted the next week.

EDIT: I was right.  The original cast has officially signed on for the new season of Futurama.

Halo Anime on the way.  Here's a trailer:

Here are the trailers for the new Marvel Anime:
Wolverine

Iron Man

Speaking of trailers, here's the next Snakes on a Plane: Hot Tub Time Machine

WARNING: THIS IS THE RED BAND TRAILER.  NSFW

Movie news: Battle Angel Alita, still a go.  So is live action Akira.

Inu Yasha - Final Chapter coming

Science news: Blue dye in M&M's may cure spinal cord injuries

And oh yeah, I didn't mention this on the show, but there's going to be a new World of Warcraft movie directed by Sam Raimi, who is known for various tentacle scenes.  I will watch this over and over again in the theaters if they get Bruce Campbell to play Leeroy Jenkins.  That, or a Panderan.

Also, I would have mentioned this, but several other podcasters beat me to it

Review
Blue Seed.

Despite the presence of tentacled beasts, it's a pretty good show. Check it out.

Promotional Consideration
Destroy All Podcasts DX - They've been recently reviewing failed pilot episodes of shows.  They really need to talk about Lookwell!

Lather's Blather - Thanks to Moonstone of the Animentors, you're witnessing the start of another one sided rivalry.  It will be glorious.  Not really.  For those of you who are interested in how the numbers break down, here's a nifty little chart.  I added in the I Luv The 80's podcast as well since I'm also planning on throwing down with Eeeper, because I'm evil like that.

Greatest Movie Ever - Of course, the Greatest Movie Ever is Rustler's Rhapsody, starring Tom Berenger.

The song played was Tentacle Show by The Tentacles

This week I'm joined by Jake the Rootbeer King from RPGLamer (http://RPGLamer.com). We discuss Canadian Heritage Minutes, candy, and go over this summer season's new anime release.

This is my idea of a Canadian Joke

Sasquatches ... IN THE FUTURE

News

Valkyria Chronicles 2 headed for the PSP

Funimation licenses 4 more Detective Conan movies

Black Lagoon 3rd Season to be OVA

Bandai reveals license for Kannagi - Crazy Shrine Maidens

Futurama - Coming back with different voice cast?

Summer 2009 Anime Previews (not necessarily in the order we previewed them)

Umi Monogatari - Mermaids that walk on land and have legs. So I'm assuming the fish half is on top.

Aoi Hana - Yuri the only one for me. If only that song was podsafe, then we wouldn't have had to hit the old unicorn well two too many times.

Bakemonogatari - Wherein several school supplies are thrown around.  If only I would have caught a thesaurus I could have remembered to call them school supplies and not school implements

Needless - I'm sure this joke has been already made before, but this show is needless.  It did not need to be made.

Charger Girl Ju-den - If you love Magical Girl shows where the girls wet themselves a lot, you need psychiatric help.

Canaan - Wherein I break out my knowledge of the book of Genesis.  Genesis has a lot more moe in it now than I remembered.

Elementhunters - Wherein we drop our impressive scientific acuity on your asses. CHON indeed.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 - We're all shook up.

Plus, apparently the one about the blue koala is called PÃnÃlope tÃte en l'air.  But I'm sure you'd much rather reminisce about The Noozles

This week I talk about the wonder that is instant ramen noodles and I review Ramen Fighter Miki and Neko Rahmen.  Full show notes can be found at http://upapaddle.com.

The News
Charger Girl Juuden Chan censored.  Not censored enough for my liking.

Mario Mararthon - At first it seemed like a marathon I might be in good enough shape for, but now I'm not so sure.  Still, good on these guys for raising so much money for charity.

Street Fighter IV -- unbalanced?  Dan says yes!

Speaking of Rolling with Sagat ... (nsfw)

I'll count this as the fun video of the episode.

Reviews

Ramen Fighter Miki
Yes, my former job was just as exciting and deadly as this was.

Here's the trailer:

You can see the episodes on Anime News Network or on Youtube.  FOR FREE!!!1!

Neko Rahmen
I didn't see video for the cartoon on Youtube, but did find this trailer for the Live Action movie

I think it's pretty clear that this will be awesome.

Here's the link for Neko Rahmen on Crunchyroll.com

And as promised, here's Hard Gay, Razor Ramon (probably nsfw):

EDIT: When I was talking about Naruto, I said Uzumaki meant swirl.  I meant to say spiral.  That is all.

This week I review Hajime no Ippo, an anime about the gentlemanly sport of boxing.  I also talk about Smarties, robot girlfriends and the tentacle monsters that love them.

News
Blue Smarties to go extinct - Drat.  Doesn't Nestle know that the artificial coloring is what made them taste good?

Michael Jackson's arcade collection.  Here's more information on each arcade machine.  Apparently, MJ even carted around a couple of arcade machines to each tour location.  Nifty.

Higher definition moon landing footage found.  Now you can make out the wrinkles on the Man in the Moon's face.  I hope that's his face.

Cardboard Tube Samurai in Tekken 6.  Yes, this is just as important as the moon landing story.

The little engine that could -- the RIAA, defender of the little guys, successfully defended itself against an evil, evil woman who downloaded TWENTY FOUR WHOLE SONGS.  Even though they're getting 1.92 million in damages, they really should have requested the death penalty.   And she has the nerve to appeal.  Ridiculous!

Robot Girlfriend for lonely men - No, I'm not buying one.  Why do you ask?

Sale of rape themed hentai games banned in Japan - In other news, thousands of tentacle monsters are now out of jobs.

Fun thing of the episode
Fish Waterslide

Reviews
Hajime no Ippo and Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger

Here's the opening theme to New Challenger.  It should get you properly pumped up for this show.

In case you are wondering what boxing is (besides what Canadians do every Dec. 26th), here's an instructional video:

The Art of Self Defence

Also, I didn't talk about the two specials Championship Road and Mashiba vs Kimura.  They are both definitely worth checking out as
