This week I talk about Black Jack. The doctor, not the game. Specifically, I talked about "The Four Miracles of Life" specials, which can be streamed legally at Crunchyroll.com. Check them out!
News
Disney buys Marvel. I think the following picture sums the deal up nicely:
From Comicmix.com
Please, oh please, won't someone think of the rollercoasters?
Fantastic Four to get reboot. Whoever green lit this picture should get a good booting. To the head. I guess at least we'll get to see new suits for the FF family, complete with molded nipples. Yes, Thing nipples.
Okamiden for the DS - Look at him, he's just a little puppy! Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy? Fetch!
Also, he's seemed to attracted a Midna type character. Interesting. Much more interesting than the mention I gave it in the episode, but to be fair, I hadn't seen the trailer when I did my recording.
Science news: Saturn's rings will disappear on September 4th, 2009. I blame swing dancing, and the Internet.
More Fightsticks on the way. And more after that. And one more for good measure.
Review
Black Jack: The Four Miracles of Life *
Yes, there are only four miracles in life and one of them involves a supercomputer. You can find them at Crunchyroll.com
* The specials didn't have this opening sequence but I put it here to give you an idea of what the character designs and animation looked like.
Promotional consideration given to:
RPGLamer.com - Jake and I are planning on recording another episode together soon, that is if I can be dragged away from Valkyria Chronicles long enough. You brought this on yourself, Jake.
Anime World Order - for an indepth, informed review of Black Jack, check out this episode. For more information on the God of Manga himself, Osamu Tezuka, check out this AWO episode. Also, check out the Astro Boy Essays, by Fred Schodt. Good stuff.

Also, I feel kinda bad for using "What's up, Doc?" without referencing Looney Tunes once, so here's a cartoon.
Falling Hare
Fans of the old kentcer.com site probably recognize this one as I've posted it on at least one other occasion.
I have a particular fondness for this particular Bugs Bunny cartoon as I used to have it on an old vhs tape when I was younger and I used to watch it over and over again. As Bob of WQOQ.com would say, I would have still been in diapers then. The repeat viewings may have been due to the lack of age appropriate vhs tapes in our household. I sure saw Coming to America and Rhustler's Rhapsody a lot, though. Ah, memories.
Thanks for listening!
