Up a Paddle - Episode 54a - Merrily we roll along.

This week I talk about the news in brief and review one of my all time favorite Anime type shows.

News
New Dragon Ball series: Dragon Ball AF

Roy and MewTwo in Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Roy can be unlocked with the Super Smash Bros Melee Gamecube disk. You will need to first unlock Roy in the Gamecube version and transfer the Gamecube save file to the Wii's flash memory. The next time you load up brawl, Roy will challenge you to a duel. This is similar to how you could unlock the Pikmin trophy in Melee by having a Pikmin save file on your memory card.

To unlock MewTwo is a little trickier. You will need to play 1000 vs matches with Jigglypuff. The last match has to be won at between 10:00 and 12:00 on Friday night on the Animal Crossing Stage. If done correctly, KK slider will saronade you with the Mario theme and Mewtwo will challenge you.

Random Fact
All 2% milk sold commercially contains 5% soy milk. This is a measure that dairy industry has implemented in response to Mad Cow disease. Many herds have been destroyed in the last year and in order to provide the same quantity of milk, drastic actions had to be taken.

Announcements
Up a Paddle has been picked up as the official podcast of the first annual WhatsACon in Regina. An official date has not been set yet but I'll keep you posted.

Podcast news
My state of the anime podcast address wherein I address the problem of podfading. Not mentioned is the We Love Furries podcast. I may not agree with what they say (I totally don't) but I'll defend to the death their right to say it (and to soil teddy bears) ... ok, maybe to the minor injury ... screw it, they're on their own. Payback's a bitch, Dane and Alex.

Thanks! This was a fun one to put together. Man, this year was definitely the year of the Rick Roll, prankwise. I've been so thoroughly rolled these last few days I can't get that darn song out of my head. It's never gonna give, never gonna give me up.

So, near as I can tell, about the only thing in that episode that wasn't fake was how you got your review of Cloverfield wrong.

I believe the only things that were true in this podcast were:
1) I was off on the Crunchyroll estimate in episode 53 and that was a sincere retraction.
2) I'm not gay but damn, that Kent is sexy.
3) There was a podcast stopping production, but I was off on which one. I honestly didn't see AniPac throwing in the towel. If only they had opted for the format change I mentioned in my podcast. This throws a kink into my plans as I have revenge to exact against them and this puts me on a tight timetable. Also, on an unrelated note, the We Love Furries podcast is going off the air.

I did regret saying that Matrix 1 was a good movie sarcastically. I meant to say Matrix 2 and 3, since I dislike those particular movies. The original Matrix is still one of my favorite movies.

Also, I've decided to reserve judgement about Cloverfield until I've had another chance to watch it. Since it comes out next week on DVD, my opinion will be forthcoming. Bob, you are welcome to come on UAP to debate the merits of this movie with me. I'm planning to record on April 22 or 23 as finals will be over then.
